November 24-December 31 25. Andes Mission – The Jaras are thankful for the increased numbers in the Intermediate Group, and for the children who memorized the books of the Bible. Continue to pray for Janeth’s recovery from surgery as well as Jonathan’s trip to Iquique this coming weekend.
26. Thanksgiving – May we never cease to give thanks to our Lord and Saviour, for our rich salvation, and the abundant opportunities He has given us to serve Him. We thank Him for every member of our IBPFM family. From the Scriptures we read: “We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.” Revelation 11:17.
27. London – Remember Dr. and Mrs. Ki as they will soon be taking up residence in London. Pray for the shipment of their belongings, and for the various fees that will be assessed. Pray that God will work in the hearts of the New Life BP congregation in London, as well as those whom God will choose to be saved in the community. Pray for many open doors to the Gospel message in this spiritually dark city.
28. Kenya – Rev. and Mrs. Eben Yoon thank God for the ongoing ministry at the college and kindergarten, as well as for God’s protection and provision for the entire family. Pray for the BCEA graduation today. Pray also for an end to the severe drought throughout Kenya. The Yoons are thankful that their newborn son is doing well; continue to pray for the family.
29. Headquarters – Thankful for the funds and our new office computers and server, please pray with us for the installation of the long awaited software also. Pray with the staff for wisdom in the day-to-day operation of the office, and that the equipment will give reliable service. Pray for the health of our staff also, that all may be able to give their best to the Master.
30. Our Mission Goals for the Year 2009; urgent requests to pray for: 1) A home-school teacher for the Bjur children in Arica. 2) A doctor and/or nurse is needed for the Clinics of Care in Isovya, Kenya. 3) Sponsors for 300 Baalah Primary School children ($15/month/child).
1. Guatemala – Pray for Caleb Kang as he travels to various places in Guatemala, assessing the ministry. Pray likewise for Debra’s Korean class next year, that she will have wisdom in sharing the Gospel with the students. Pray for Joshua also to have a meaningful holiday. Finally, pray for Guatemala with its crime, security issues and poverty.
2. Kenya – Miss Eun Young Bai requests prayer for her Sunday School presentation this coming Christmas. Pray as they prepare the songs, skit, and costumes. Pray that the children will come closer to the Lord as they prepare and participate. Pray for Miss Bai during this vacation time, and for her preparation for the next term. Remember also her lady students in prayer. 3. Brazil – Rev. and Mrs. Olson are thankful for the good CIEF of Brazil meeting held on Reformation Day; it was the first one in 15 years. Continue to pray for good results of the paper, The Fundamentalist, and a second issue that is being worked on. Pray for protection and safety for those in Brazil, and for Christina, Priscilla, and Luke as they continue their studies.
4. Holy Land – Joan Davenport continues to be thankful to God for His wisdom and continued daily guidance. Praise God for answered prayer that Murad continues to do well in school and that the rains have started this season. Pray for wisdom during these months of transition, and for understanding in helping out the new owners of Beit El Baraka.
5. Internationals – Judy Creamer is thankful for this Christmas season and the opportunities to share the story of Christ’s birth. Pray for friends she has invited to attend her church’s Christmas program, cookie exchange, and other activities. Pray for the Friends of Internationals Christmas dinner today.
6. Prayer Partners – “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16b. Thank you for your ministry in prayer. May you never tire of interceding on behalf of our missionaries, staff, and other supporters. Likewise may God raise up a new generation of those who love to pray.
7. Kenya – Rev. Mark Kim will be traveling to Tanzania this week to conduct seminars. Pray for safe travel as well as profitable meetings. Pray for God’s blessing on the BCEA students during this term break, that when they return they will be prepared to resume their studies. Praise God for graduation last month, and for God’s many blessings showered upon them. Thank the Lord also for some rain that has fallen in the land.
8. Cambodia – Rev. and Mrs. Luke Kim thank the Lord that He has allowed them to serve in Cambodia for this past year. They request prayer for the results of the medical/evangelistic outreach they have recently engaged in with some of their students. Pray for conscientious Christian national workers to help the Kims.
9. Andes Mission – Rev. and Mrs. Durand are thankful for the two students completing beginning Greek class. Pray for the results of the November evangelistic outreach, the safe delivery of the new Durand baby, and for the church to have a good testimony to the community this month. Pray for Pastor Norman and his family as he battles cancer.
10. London – The Ki family travels from Korea to Singapore today, and on to London December 15. Pray for safe travel, for the successful shipping of all their belongings, as well as for health and strength. Continue to pray for a successful transition of ministry for Rev. Ki and the new pastor at Hope Church in Adelaide. Pray that the Hope ministries will continue to grow and spiritually profit in these days.
11. Kenya – Judith Collins and Peter Lkayo are praying for the successful acceptance of the Baalah School proposal, submitted to an American charity, that will build teachers’ quarters. Pray also for protection of the missionaries and properties, especially during this time of the year when crime is high. May God protect.
12. Faithful Donors – Praise God for our 2009 supporters: churches, Sunday school classes, missionary and prayer groups, individuals and families alike. May our God be pleased to bless your kindness and generosity. May He also raise up new supporters, willing to make a financial commitment for missions in 2010.
13. Andes Mission – The Jaras request prayer for their church’s Christmas program this Sunday. Praise God for Janeth’s improved health following surgery. Pray for Jonathan’s Biblical article in the “The Arica Star” newspaper. Continue also to pray for the construction of their new church building.
14. India – Mr. Eapen reports that he is out of the hospital and back home once again. He anticipates by-pass surgery sometime in the future and would appreciate prayer. Remember his daughters and their families as they assist him with various responsibilities. Pray for a continued strong testimony during this Christmas.
15. Guatemala – The Rickers are thankful for two that were recently baptized at the Monserrat church; it was a blessing to everyone. Pray for lasting results from last month’s VBS as well as the 550 Bible story CDs that were distributed in the public school. Pray for the Christmas services at both churches, that the Gospel will not only go forth with boldness, but be received by willing hearts.
16. Brazil – Praise God for the five graduates of the Recife Fundamental Presbyterian Seminary; the ceremony will be this Friday. Pray for the construction permit still needed for the Paulista Fundamental Presbyterian Church. Pray also for improvement in the Brazilian economy.
17. Board of Directors – Pray for Rev. and Mrs. George Jaggard, as he is undergoing cancer treatment. Pray for Dr. William Le Roy as he awaits surgery on his back. Pray for God’s grace to sustain and aid these servants. Pray for our Board and all of the decisions they need to make, especially as we look to the new year.
18. Andes Mission – Praise God that Melody and Becky were able to travel to Santiago for a music conference with the Steve Petit Evangelist team. Praise God for traveling mercies and a profitable conference. Pray for the Christmas program this Sunday (20th); they will be using the cantata “Night of Miracles”. Pray that the unsaved will respond to the Gospel.
19. Faithful Supporters – “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” Luke 6:38. Praise God for the faithfulness of so many during 2009.
20. Kenya – Rev. and Mrs. Eben Yoon thank the Lord for His many blessings this past year. Pray with them for the varied ministries at BCEA, the campus church, kindergarten, and outreaches. Pray for safety, especially during Christmas, and for continued good rain.
21. Internationals – Judy Creamer requests prayer for guests she will have during the holidays: Esther, Ryiyan, Jingying, Haijing, and Qian; these will be away from their studies and have time to visit with Judy. Pray also for Qian’s faith to remain strong as she returns to China.
22. India – Please pray for Dr. and Mrs. Vijay Gaikwad and their medical-evangelistic work at the Louisa Lee Memorial Hospital in Tumsar. Pray for God’s provision for their needs and for many souls to be saved through their ministry. Pray also for the various clinics that will be offered throughout the new year.
23. Cambodia – Rev. and Mrs. Choi thank the Lord for the short term team of 37 from Australia. Continue to pray for the training of disciples and for the new ones coming to faith in Christ. Pray for new missionaries to come to this needy land and help the Chois in this ministry. Finally, pray that God will continue to bless Stephen and Lydia with good health.
24. Holy Land – Pray for the annual Christmas Eve service held in the Shepherd’s Field Church; pray for the speaker and his message. Continue to uphold the Baraka BPC in prayer, remembering the pastors, elders, and congregation that they will grow in the Lord and maintain a true witness in their daily lives.
25. Christmas Day – Rejoice with us today in the gift of God, our Lord Jesus Christ. “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law. To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” Galatians 4:4-5.
26. Retired Missionaries – Let us not forget to prayerfully support our retired missionaries. Please pray that they may be strengthened daily in the Lord, for the various tasks to which He calls them: Dr. and Mrs. William Le Roy, Mrs. Evelyn Cunningham, Mrs. Maurine Gordon, Mrs. Dorothy White, and Miss Marion Willits. The physical needs of a number of these brethren vary, so we trust their care into the Lord’s hands.
27. Missionary Support – Pray for those missionaries lacking in monthly support. Rev. and Mrs. Eben Yoon; Miss Joan Davenport; Rev. and Mrs. Timothy Ki; Rev. and Mrs. Woo Sun Kim; Rev. and Mrs. Ken Olson; Rev. and Mrs. Hal Ricker ; Rev. and Mrs. In Pil Choi; Rev. and Mrs. Mark Kim; Mr. and Mrs. Caleb Kang. Pray also for the General Fund, Bible College of East Africa Work Scholarship Fundand the Silver Retirement Fund.
28. Brazil – Rev. and Mrs. Woo Sun Kim are thankful for the progress made at the Bethesda Nursery; pray for $60,000 needed to construct a technical school there to train the many unskilled/uneducated people. Praise God for Mrs. Kim’s good report from a recent medical exam.
29. London – Pray with the Ki family for the planning of their ministry for 2010 at New Life BPC. Pray for the watch-night service on Thursday. Pray that the shipment of their belongings will arrive in the next few weeks, without incident. Pray for Daniel and Samuel as they return to their studies in Australia.
30. Kenya – Gary and Pat Johnson continue to thank the Lord for their ministry last month in Kenya, for the team of three that traveled with them, the relief food and money that was distributed, and for the encouragement that was evident. Continue to pray for the seed that was given out, both real and spiritual, that it will produce a great harvest to the glory of God.
31. This final month in 2009, let us praise God together for the many answers to prayer: Praise God for the sale of Beit El Baraka; thanking God’s people for their frequent prayers. Praise God for those recently contacted who are interested in ministering with the Bjurs with home-school aid; may this continue to grow and profit. Praise God for the many, faithful and sacrificial gifts that have supplied both salaries and special projects throughout this past year. May God be glorified for all that He alone has accomplished this year. |
